With kind regards
The Museum für Gießen is a central anchor point for history and art in the young, student-oriented city of Hesse. The museum is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation process. Not only the buildings but also the permanent exhibitions are being renovated. In 2026, the museum and its three locations should be fully reopened. We were commissioned to develop the new corporate design and the new name together with the museum team. The Oberhessisches Museum Gießen became the Museum für Gießen. True to its values: fearless, humorous and appreciative, it now ends its emails with: MfG.

The building complex on Kirchenplatz: the Leib’sche Haus and the Wallenfels’sche Haus were redeveloped as part of an architectural competition. The buildings will be merged and physically open up to the urban space.
The new design also opens up to the urban society: with a further development of the previous house typeface Gießen Futura – the Future – and the bright colors magenta and petrol in combination with a pastel yellow.
The handwriting from the word mark also exists in the CD as a markup element to add emphasis; entirely in the museum’s own humorous style.
