A Roomful of Wonders
One of Europe’s oldest surviving »cabinets of curiosities« – Renaissance-era collections of art and natural objects – is located at the Francke Foundations in Halle. Objects from all over the world can be viewed in the magnificently painted original display cases – and now a new app provides another fun way to discover these wonders.

What’s that thing? Sometimes it’s hard to say. Some of the objects in the cabinet are so bizarre-looking that their meaning and function cannot be easily understood.
Using the app Die Stimmen der Dinge (The Voices of Things), children can explore the objects on display. Detective skills are just as important as the desire to tinker and build: Die Stimmen der Dinge
Tayé the crocodile is your guide and companion on this journey. Tayé exists in real life (although he’s stuffed with straw) – he hangs out right under the ceiling of the gallery. The prehistoric reptile has been brought back to life for the new app and is ready to offer help and advice.
